Whether you are looking for a simple check-up and cleaning, or are looking at restorative or cosmetic options, DeMarta Dental will work with you in a process designed to keep you comfortable and informed. Changes in implants, veneers, and bonding material have blurred the line between restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Improving your teeth’s shape and appearance will affect—and improve— their function as well.
Please find below a partial list our services and procedures. We welcome any additional questions you may have about our practice and how we can help with your dental needs.
Cleaning / Preventive Care Routine, Comprehensive New Patient, Limited, and Second Option Exams
It is important to schedule regular cleaning and check-ups. The cleaning helps to remove the hard calculus deposits that build up on the roots of teeth. It’s also a good time to see if there are any problem areas that could be addressed early. Sometimes it’s just a basic cleaning and an adjustment to the home care routine.
- We recommend a routine exam 1-2 times a year. This is the time where we try to catch problems early.
- Comprehensive exams are required for New Patients and continuing patients who might need a good deal of work.
- Limited exams focus to one specific area.
- We welcome patients seeking second options.
Sealants are a composite/resin coating that is placed in the grooves of young teeth to help prevent cavities.
We like to see children starting at the age of 3. The first visits should be very simple for a good experience.
Bonded fillings are resin-based composites that can repair small tooth fractures, fill cavities, replace metal fillings, and a chip, gap, or discoloration on the surface of a tooth. Bonded material is safer, stronger, and more attractive than amalgam, and comes in many shades, making the material almost identical to the color of your natural tooth surface.
A crown is a restoration that is placed over the top of a tooth to help hold it together. They are usually placed to replace a large filling or a fractured tooth.
Bridges are restorations to replace missing teeth. To place a bridge, the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are crowned and the space where the missing tooth is located would have a fake tooth. All the teeth are attached.
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or resin that covers the outer layer of the tooth. They are mostly placed on the front teeth.
Implants are a great way to replace teeth without affecting the nearby teeth. They are most often used to replace a tooth but can be used to replace many teeth. They can even be used to support a partial denture or a full denture.
A night guard is an appliance that is used to help prevent the teeth from chipping or fracturing from clenching and/or grinding. It is somewhat like a retainer but it covers the chewing surface of the teeth.
Whitening your teeth is not only safe but fun. There are two ways to whiten teeth. The first is the over the counter strips such as Crest White Strips. These are great for a slight change or to touch up the whitening from a professional treatment. The best result is to have it done professionally. This will get your teeth whiter and it will last longer. We recommend making custom trays and using a whitening gel.
